The company have been operating for over 50 years and due to the nature of their industry and the complexity of the work every aspect of the manufacturing process must conform to aerospace standards. This Purchaser role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth flow of production through effective procurement and project coordination for complex aerospace machined components and assemblies. You will act as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining seamless communication throughout the process. This involves managing numerous projects simultaneously, negotiating with suppliers, and achieving optimal pricing, timelines, and quality standards. Purchaser Key Responsibilities: - Procurement: - Review engineering drawings and source all materials associated with bills of materials for timely production delivery. - Secure competitive quotes and finalise contracts with approved suppliers. - Manage purchase orders and track delivery progress. - Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in procurement. - Project Coordination: - Collaborate with project engineers on various aspects of builds, including sourcing components and creating bills of materials when necessary. - Maintain accurate project records and reports on spend and production capacity. - Proactively monitor progress and troubleshoot potential issues, ensuring on-time delivery. - Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders, managing expectations and addressing concerns promptly.
